Gender Analysis in the Management of Livestock Enterprises in Sanggau Regency, 2023

Introduction
The 2023 Agricultural Census conducted by the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Sanggau Regency provides valuable insights into the gender distribution in the management of individual agricultural livestock enterprises. This data highlights the significant roles played by both men and women in the livestock industry across various districts in the region.


Data Summary
The census results indicate that the total number of livestock enterprise managers in Sanggau Regency is 6,188 individuals. Of this total, 5,777 are men, while 411 are women. The distribution of managers by district is as follows:


· Toba District: 258 managers (245 men, 13 women)

· Meliau District: 1,147 managers (1,103 men, 44 women)

· Kapuas District: 784 managers (726 men, 58 women)

· Mukok District: 701 managers (637 men, 64 women)

· Jangkang District: 249 managers (229 men, 20 women)

· Bonti District: 536 managers (482 men, 54 women)

· Parindu District: 319 managers (301 men, 18 women)

· Tayan Hilir District: 367 managers (340 men, 27 women)

· Balai District: 518 managers (483 men, 35 women)

· Tayan Hulu District: 260 managers (249 men, 11 women)

· Kembayan District: 525 managers (498 men, 27 women)

· Beduai District: 280 managers (254 men, 26 women)

· Noyan District: 40 managers (34 men, 6 women)

· Sekayam District: 178 managers (171 men, 7 women)

· Entikong District: 26 managers (25 men, 1 woman)


Analysis
The data clearly shows a male-dominated management landscape in livestock enterprises across most districts in Sanggau Regency. However, despite the lower numbers, the contribution of female managers in certain districts remains significant. This potential could be further developed to increase female participation in the livestock sector, contributing to sustainability and greater inclusivity in the field.


Conclusion
Understanding the gender distribution in the management of individual livestock enterprises is crucial for designing fair and sustainable policies. By enhancing female participation, Sanggau Regency can strengthen its livestock sector and, ultimately, bolster the regional economy.
