Introduction
Agriculture is a vital sector in the economy of Sanggau Regency. Understanding how agricultural enterprises are managed and distributed across various sub-districts is key to improving the productivity and welfare of farmers. This article analyzes agricultural data in Sanggau based on the percentage of Agricultural Household Enterprises (RTUP) and Individual Agricultural Enterprises (UTP), as well as other visualizations such as pie charts and line plots to illustrate the distribution and ratio of agricultural enterprises.
1. Analysis of RTUP and UTP Percentages in Each Sub-district
Tayan Hilir records a higher percentage of UTP, about 8% more than RTUP. This indicates that households in this area tend to run more than one agricultural business, which can increase income diversification.
Entikong shows a similar pattern with 8% more UTP compared to RTUP. This indicates that households are managing multiple agricultural enterprises, which can be a strategy to reduce economic risk.
Most other sub-districts, such as Toba, Meliau, and Kapuas, show a smaller difference, around 1-4%, between RTUP and UTP. This suggests that most households in these areas are more focused on a single agricultural enterprise.
2. Distribution of RTUP Across Sub-districts
Kapuas and Meliau sub-districts have the largest proportion of RTUP, each contributing around 10% of the total RTUP. This dominance shows that these sub-districts have great agricultural potential and are key centers of farming activity in Sanggau.
Sub-districts with a smaller share of RTUP, such as Beduai and Noyan, each around 3%, may face challenges in terms of agricultural development or have smaller farming populations. The potential for agricultural development in these areas could be the focus of regional agricultural policies.
3. Understanding the UTP to RTUP Ratio
Tayan Hilir and Entikong stand out with the highest ratios, at 1.08. This means that each household in these sub-districts tends to manage more than one individual agricultural enterprise, indicating a strong diversification of enterprises.
On the other hand, sub-districts such as Bonti and Balai have ratios around 1.01, indicating that almost every household manages only one agricultural enterprise. This could suggest limited resources or a preference for focusing on a single enterprise.
Sub-districts such as Parindu, Tayan Hulu, and Mukok have ratios around 1.04, showing a moderate tendency for enterprise diversification.
Conclusion and Recommendations
Encouraging Agricultural Enterprise Diversification: Sub-districts with higher UTP-to-RTUP ratios, such as Tayan Hilir and Entikong, show great potential for developing more diverse agricultural enterprises. This could be a key focus in agricultural policies to enhance economic sustainability in these areas.
Developing Agricultural Infrastructure in Certain Sub-districts: Sub-districts with large numbers of RTUPs, such as Kapuas and Meliau, show significant development potential. Meanwhile, sub-districts with fewer RTUPs need additional support to increase their agricultural activities.
Increasing Support for Small-scale Agricultural Enterprises: Most sub-districts in Sanggau Regency have a UTP-to-RTUP ratio close to one, indicating the dominance of small-scale agricultural enterprises. Support in the form of market access, agricultural technology, and training can help these individual enterprises become more productive and sustainable.
