Riofebri Prasetia, a Pranata Komputer (Prakom) at BPS Sanggau Regency, was recently invited as a speaker at a sharing knowledge event hosted by BPS Riau Islands Province on August 20, 2024. During the session, the BPS Sanggau Prakom presented their innovation, the "Kawan BPS Sanggau" chatbot, which is designed to make it easier for the public to access statistical data via WhatsApp.

Before the chatbot, people often had to contact BPS staff directly through personal WhatsApp to obtain data or information, which was less efficient. With Kawan BPS Sanggau, the public can quickly and automatically get the information they need.

In the presentation, the BPS Sanggau Prakom shared that the chatbot was built using Node.js and Gemini AI, enabling quick and accurate responses to user queries. The system is also connected to Google Spreadsheet to log interactions and keep data organized.

During the Q&A session, the BPS Sanggau staff addressed various questions from participants about potential risks of being blocked by Meta, the use of Gemini AI technology, and further development strategies.
