Introduction
The 2023 Agricultural Census conducted by the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) in Sanggau Regency has provided valuable data on the distribution of households involved in livestock farming across various districts. This data also sheds light on the types of production these households are engaged in, such as live animals/meat, fresh milk, consumption eggs, hatching eggs, and other livestock products. This article aims to present an in-depth analysis of the data.
Data Summary
Here is the distribution of the number of livestock farming households in various districts of Sanggau Regency based on their production types:
· Toba District: Total 258 households; 221 produce live animals/meat, 6 produce consumption eggs, and 41 produce feathers.
· Meliau District: Total 1,138 households; 971 produce live animals/meat, 25 produce consumption eggs, and 177 produce feathers.
· Kapuas District: Total 782 households; 706 produce live animals/meat, 14 produce consumption eggs, and 12 produce skins.
· Mukok District: Total 695 households; 670 produce live animals/meat, 39 produce consumption eggs.
· Jangkang District: Total 249 households; 234 produce live animals/meat, 4 produce consumption eggs.
· Bonti District: Total 535 households; 379 produce live animals/meat, 61 produce hatching eggs.
· Parindu District: Total 319 households; 282 produce live animals/meat, 40 produce feathers.
· Tayan Hilir District: Total 363 households; 336 produce live animals/meat, 35 produce consumption eggs, and 65 produce hatching eggs.
· Balai District: Total 518 households; 513 produce live animals/meat, 9 produce consumption eggs.
· Tayan Hulu District: Total 260 households; 239 produce live animals/meat, 25 produce consumption eggs.
· Kembayan District: Total 524 households; 505 produce live animals/meat, 5 produce consumption eggs, and 4 produce skins.
· Beduai District: Total 278 households; 275 produce live animals/meat, 7 produce consumption eggs.
· Noyan District: Total 40 households; 39 produce live animals/meat, 1 produces consumption eggs, and 4 produce hatching eggs.
· Sekayam District: Total 179 households; 176 produce live animals/meat, 2 produce consumption eggs, and 3 produce skins.
· Entikong District: Total 26 households; 24 produce live animals/meat, 1 produces consumption eggs, and 1 produces hatching eggs.
Analysis
The data indicates that live animals/meat production is the most dominant type of livestock farming across nearly all districts in Sanggau Regency. However, several districts also exhibit diversity in production types, such as consumption eggs, hatching eggs, feathers, and skins. This variety reflects local adaptation and household preferences based on market conditions and available resources.
