According to the 2023 data from BPS Sanggau Regency, the agricultural sector is predominantly driven by individual farming enterprises, with most of them managing less than 5 hectares of land. A total of 82,298 farming units were recorded as individual farms, with 39,218 units managing land between 2 to 4.99 hectares, while 11,035 units operate on less than 1 hectare.
On the other hand, agricultural corporations are relatively few in number, but still play a crucial role in the local agricultural economy. These businesses, despite their smaller share, provide significant contributions, particularly in large-scale farming sectors.
Conclusion:
This data emphasizes that small-scale farming remains the backbone of Sanggau's economy. With limited land resources, these individual farms continue to play a vital role in the region's economic development. Therefore, it is essential for the government to formulate targeted policies that support the productivity and welfare of small-scale farmers.
