Cattle Population Growth in Sanggau Regency: Focus on Beef Cattle and Buffaloes

October 29, 2024 | BPS Activities

According to the latest data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Sanggau Regency, the livestock industry in this region is predominantly focused on beef cattle in the individual farming sector, with a total population reaching 10,123 heads. In contrast, the buffalo population stands at only 2 heads, and there are no recorded dairy cattle farms. This data indicates that beef cattle are the primary choice in the livestock sector in Sanggau, contributing significantly to the regional economy.

Additionally, other agricultural enterprises in the livestock sector have a much smaller population, around 35 heads. This statistic shows that smaller-scale livestock operations have a lesser impact compared to large-scale individual farming. This data is essential for stakeholders in developing targeted policies to boost the livestock sector in Sanggau Regency.
