A deep understanding of society's needs and well-being is an important foundation for sustainable development. In Sanggau Regency, efforts to collect detailed and accurate data about the socio-economic conditions of the population were realized through the implementation of the March 2024 National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS). SUSENAS is one of the large surveys conducted by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to collect related data. with various aspects of people's lives, starting from education, health, household expenditure and consumption, to social mobility.
In its implementation, BPS Sanggau Regency adheres to the principle of data precision and accuracy as its main priority. For the March 2024 SUSENAS Survey, the method used is still based on Paper and Pencil Interviewing (PAPI). The PAPI method has proven effective in collecting complex and detailed data, allowing interviewers to explore respondents' answers through direct interaction. Even though it is traditional, PAPI provides flexibility in adjusting questions based on various conditions and situations of respondents in the field.
During February to March 2024, the Sanggau Regency BPS team will visit residents' homes in various sub-districts, holding direct interviews with household members selected as respondents. The survey covers a range of important themes, from the education of children in the household to access to health services and household spending patterns. This well-trained survey team used prepared PAPI questionnaires to collect data in a systematic and organized manner, ensuring every important aspect of the socio-economic lives of Sanggau residents was well recorded.
The implementation of the March 2024 SUSENAS Survey by BPS Sanggau Regency confirms the institution's commitment to providing high quality data that will support evidence-based policy making. Accurate and reliable data is the key to development planning that is responsive to the real needs of society. Therefore, the hard work of field officers in collecting data through the PAPI method is very important, ensuring that any information obtained can become a solid basis for better development of Sanggau Regency in the future.
